Am I There Yet?, Sunday 9 September

Man oh man! I finally worked through the pre-departure melancholy and hit the Eisenhower Intersate System on Sunday afternoon, all pumped up about finally driving across the country, even if it is about 30 years later than it's s'posed to be. Thoughts of wide-open prairies, Rocky mountains, and the Pacific Ocean were dashed by the "Lowell, 2 Miles" sign on I-495 in Massachusetts. I guess this is going to take a while!
